The Card:

1. Eriko Hasegawa vs. Ai Aoki
Merely an exhibition match, but important for a few reasons. First, Eriko made her OJ-FWA debut at the last Yuuki Matsuri in 2007. Secondly, Aoki, who made her debut at SNF 2 (and who also is the daughter of the late Shinzo Aoki, founder of the original OJPW who tragically killed himself when business tanked).

2. Russ Morgan vs. KAZU
Russ Morgan, the drastically improving transplant from New York's SRW will take on the legendary KAZU. Will his experiences from the previous Yuuki Matsuri hinder his performance?

3. Sasori vs. Shiroko
Sasori was scheduled to face Shiroko at SNF 2, but an attack from SEA's Sai prevented that. Shiroko is back and is, needless to say, not very happy. What will happen when the technical mastery of Sasori meets the blind rage of Shiroko?

4.Brad Harris vs. Tiger Miyazawa
After being defeated by Harris in a no-dq falls-count-anywhere match on OJ-FWA World Tour, Miyazawa took the low road and viciously attacked Harris from behind twice. Did this give Miyazawa the psychological advantage, or will Harris' acquisition of the managerial services of Moemi Amano lead him to victory?

5. So Ryung Park vs. A-Hole Ronald
At XGWL's Global Warning event, Ronald viciously attacked Park. Will this match be the end of the feud, or will it be the end of Ronald?

6. Moemi Amano vs. Mary Riegan (C) for the Joshi Sekai Championship
Having won a four-way match to determine the number one contender to the Mary Riegan's Joshi Sekai Championship, Moemi Amano is determined to win in her first championship opportunity.

7. Hidenori Tsujimoto (C) vs. BINGO-1's Caleb Dod for the Sekai Ningen-kyu Championship
Caleb Dod (from the BINGO-1 promotion) ran roughshod over the competition during the most recent Champion's Soul tournament and went ahead to win the competition.

The contract for the match was signed right away, but immediately after, Tsujimoto, the champion, was viciously attacked. Having suffered extreme physical and psychological trauma as a result of the incident, Tsujimoto wants nothing more than revenge.

Ladies and gents, the anticipation in the OJ-FWA lockerroom is building as Yuuki Matsuri 2011 is a few short weeks away!

The Card:

The Rules:

- Tournament is open to all weight classes (Junior, Heavy, Etc).

- Women may also compete (and have in past tournaments, though none have, as of yet, won)

- Will first be conducted in four round-robin style blocks, each with 5 competitors. The top 2 of each block will then be entered into a final 8-man single elimination tournament bracket, with the winner facing the champion at the next possible event (to be announced when the brackets are).

- The matches will be decided via pinfall, submission, or KO.

Up to now, the event called Yuuki Matsuri has traditionally been an FWA (Female Wrestling Association of Japan) event, and therefore has been a women's only event. FWA wrestlers, along with other wrestlers from other promotions, have gone up against each other. This year's event will be the first event to prominently feature male wrestlers as well.

During the turmoil of merger negotiations that took place between FWA and NOJ, the 2006 event was indefinitely postponed. In fact, this years event wasn't originally going to be a Yuuki Matsuri... in fact, it was simply going to be a regular show taking place at the Shinkuku FACE arena. However, Reiko Hikawa arranged for the event to be held at the famous Budoukan (were the first Yuuki Matsuri took place), and be officially rechristened "Yuuki Matsuri"

"Yuuki (ユーキ)" has a number of meanings. As "yuki" or 雪, it means "snow," and indeed there are a number of "Yuki Matsuri" or "snow festivals" in Japan. The other meaning, as "yuuki" or 勇気, means "courage, valor, or bravery." The name for the event is written in katakana, and kept purposely vague so that both meanings can be evoked.

Reuben Boyd: Hello everyone and welcome to our second broadcasted event, Saturday Night Fights! My name is Reuben Boyd and I'll be your English play-by-play man for the evening! We are (semi)live from the Hammerstein Ballroom here in Manhattan. The Manhattan center has quite the wrestling and fighting history. We hope to be able to live up to the lofty standards set by our predecessors! Tonight, schedueled to join us in action, we have the rematch from FIRST, a second chance for a first impression kind of deal, as the two rookies, New York native Liliana versus the Hong Kong spitfire, Amy Chen. We will have the double debut of Michiko "Wakuwaku" Watanabe versus someone by the name of Shiroko, someone whom I haven't even so much as even seen yet. Next, we have the joshi purist Sasori take on the returning Yubari. That may not look it in that picture, but that IS indeed Keiko "Bull" Nakano. Tonight, she makes her return to an American venue to take on IKU. I you will recall, Nakano absolutely DESTROYED IKU in her debut a year or so back, so it will be interesting to see if it will be a teacher becoming the student situation. Lastly, or main event. Rarely does it happen that the champion challenges the challenger, but here we are. Joshi legend Manami Toyota battles So Ryung Park for the FWA North American Championship! Take it away Mr. Yazaki!

*During the course of this back-and-forth encounter, a spot goes terribly wrong. After tossing Liliana out of the ring, she hits the ropes and hits a Shooting Star Suicida from the ropes to the floor. Chen landed oddly, seemingly hurting her neck in the process. After a while, she was able to continue the match, much to the hardcore New York crowd's amazement. After a while, however, she started showing signs of being affected by the accident, stumbling around the ring and finally falling out of the ring entirely. She is tossed in by Liliana for the Northern Lights suplex hold finish.*

Post-match:
Boyd: Oh my god. I uh... umm... well, that kind of thing happens in our business sometimes. Our producers say that they will try to figure out what's going o... she can't get up. She's lying there limp in the ring. Referee Kaori Fujimura and Liliana are both trying to help her up... no go... the paramedics are here and are placing her on a stretcher. We'll try to keep you informed as to what happened as we find out ourselves. Sweet jesus...

Boyd: To be honest, I don't know if Shiroko even really had a plan going in. It just looked like she did everything she could to just HURT Watanabe. And the blood, I think it has something to do with the heels she's wearing. OJ-FWA officials are going to have to look into that one.

*Explanation: This is the third time Park faced Toyota. The first time was for her debut, where Park was soundly beaten. Footage of the second time can be seen in the hype package, and this match took place during the SekaiJoshi Championship tournament that was eventually won by Judo Fighter Tamura. Park while seemingly taking the losses in stride, has been seen losing it lately. After Toyota's storming out after being defeated by Hinomoto, OJ-FWA Co-Founder Reiko Hikawa offered her this challenge from the FWA-NA Championship*

June 24, Tokyo Dome (FPR); Former "Sexy Fight"
star Reiko defeated champion Mary after a back and forth match that saw numerous near-falls on both sides.

"Bruiser Brody" retained the Ningen title by K.O. After challenger Toshiaki Kawada was downed by the champ, many thought Ohtani would be the one to wrest the title from him. However he finally fell victim to an old-school piledriver, sending Ohtani to Queer Street on rubbery legs.

LAWL's Marie Reyes defeated IKU with a Buffalo
Sleeper Hold. It was an interesting back and forth match, with the more
experienced Reyes taking the victory.

HOLT NOTE: After the match, Reyes and IKU shook hands while IKU bowed to her.

ship to end that match.

PW-RIOT's Delray Biggs, Steve Kingston, and Trent Frost defeated MCPro's Dwayne Reade, Ryan Wright, and SHALLOW when Biggs pinned Wright with a Falcon Arrow.
Excellent showing by all. If the MCPro and PW-Riot guys were experiencing any jet lag, they all masked it well and put forth one hell of a match. The geNEON boys were excellent in cutting the ring in half and always keeping the fresh man in. The skillfulness of Biggs and the all out toughness of Kingston really won over the Tokyo Dome crowd. Even though this match marks the return of SHALLOW after a two-year long absence, there was no ring rust visible. Trent FROST, his former stablemate also returned from time away to recover from a leg injury.

HOLT notes: Trent FROST was limping heavily backstage after the match. This
was believed to have been caused by Reade's multiple dropkicks to the knee. Word is that he has been taken to the hospital to have some MRI's done, but nothing has
been confirmed as of yet.

PW-RIOT's Arson defeated Russ Morgan with the Firebomb. There were numerous attempts by Morgan to try and put Arson away early, including 2 Northen Lights Bombs, but they all failed. Arson showed everyone why he is PW-Riot's No
Frills Champion.

HOLT notes: Backstage, Morgan was heard muttering, "holy fuck."

Match 1: A-Hole Ronald Vs. Riki Choshu

Choshu def. Ronald with a Sleeper Hold. Crowd was
all over Ronald in this encounter.

Match 2: Liliana Vs. Amy Chen

Chen def. Liliana with a Rolling Prawn Hold. A rather
disjointed match between two rookies new to OJ-FWA. It was the first time for both of them working in front of such a large audience. The surprise ending really
seemed to get the crowd into the match. These rookies can only get better!

HOLT notes: After the match, after hearing what co-president Reiko Hikawa had to say about the match, Liliana stormed out looking extremely frustrated. Despite all this, Liliana is still planned to be facing Chen again when OJ-FWA visits the US. Their match will take place on the promotion's Hammerstein Ballroom card which, of course, is located in Liliana's home state of New York.

BREAKING NEWS: Deal Finalized with LAWL for Interpromotional Match

June 18; OJ-FWA has reached a deal with LAWL to have it's star Marie Reyes to appear at OJ-FWA's FIRST event at the Tokyo Dome on June 24th. Reyes, a top star in her
promotion, will face FWA newcomer IKU. When asked for a comment, IKU said that she hopes to learn as much as possible from the experience.

In related news, there are negotiations underway with McLanahan Pro, Pro-Wrestling: RIOT and others. OJ-FWA hopes that it's relationships with these promotions will prove to be beneficial, not just to each other, but for the fans as well.

OJ-FWA: - FIRST - will take place on June 24th, and some matches will be broadcast via YouTube shortly thereafter.

Hinomoto Wins Title Shot

June 6, Korakuen Hall (FPR);
Former "Sexy Fight" star Reiko Hinomoto won a Number One Contender's match against the legendary Manami Toyota. Hinomoto picked up the victory after hitting her "lethal" Angel Dive. Toyota and Hinomoto shook hands after the bout, but sources say that Toyota has refused to talk to anyone following the bout. It has been reported that Toyota promptly left the hall afterwards, and was not present at the post-show enkai.

This means that Hinomoto has an unprecedented second chance in half a year to become the Joshi Sekai Champion. Her last title shot came against then-champion Akira Hokuto, when Hokuto put the young challenger away with two Northern Light Bombs.

Hinomoto will face champion and rival Mary Riegan at OJ-FWA: FIRST, June
24th at the Tokyo Dome.

Just "Another Walk in the Park" for So Ryung?

of New York just got a bit brighter for the FWA's South Korean manager-turned-wrestler. So Ryung Park captured the newly-minted FWA-North American Women's Championship, becoming
the belt's champion. Park, who is a former holder of the Joshi Championship, made her debut in America as a manager. Her change of careers took place after she
opened eyes with her athletic means of defending her clients.

History

Growing up Eriko aspired to get in front of the camera. Indeed this can be seen in many home movies where she would constantly mug for that camera.

This is perhaps what lead to her getting involved in a business which mainly involved said camera. After being discovered in a Shibuya night club, Eriko's face and body have been seen in all sorts of magazines, mostly those who catered to male tastes of course. Although the life span of such a career is incredibly short, she has been photographed around the entire country of Japan, and various parts of others.

OJ-FWA

Eriko was hired as part of OJ-FWA's "New Talent Initiative" of 2007, which also produced WakuWaku Watanabe and Shiroko. The purpose of the initiative was to show the superiority of Reiko Hikawa's training facility by training those who have never wrestled into compitent performers. The only thing combat-related in Eriko's resume was a stint as a "sexy fighting boxer" at a local men's club. Hikawa took a skill that was never meant to be taken seriously, and trained Eriko to be a formidable striker.

Yuuki Matsuri 2007 and Moemi Amano

Eriko debuted at Yuuki Matsuri 2007 at the Budokan against Moemi Amano. Although the vastly more experienced veteran Amano was able to handily defeat the just trained Eriko, they quickly struck up a friendship and professional alliance that has lasted to this day, with Amano effectively managing her career.

History

Born in the poor village of Suzhou in Anhui Province, there was little to predict Amy's future in pro-wrestling. Throughout elementary school and junior high, she became an active member of the local Kung-Fu dojo. Through his own hard work, her father was able to pay for her college education in Beijing.

As a Stuntwoman

After college, she happened upon an advertisement in a national newspaper advertising a position as a consultant for upcoming martial arts film projects in Hong Kong. Considering the time she spent studying Kung-Fu, she considered it an excellent use of her talents. She eventually worked her way to actively working on the films physically as a stuntwoman, being featured in such films as "Wheeled Meals" and "Shanghai Sheena."

As a Pro-Wrestler

During the shooting of one of these films, she caught the eye of kung-fu/pro-wrestling star HYL. He took her under his wing and trained her in wrestling and how to incorporate her Kung-Fu skills into her style, just as he had done in the past. After about 2 months, she had a short stint in the then New Olive Japan playing fighting game characters in special attraction matches. Another three years later, she recieved a call from former employer John "©" McKay and was informed of the merger. She also was invited to return to the company as herself. After some time, she agreed and made her return at OJ-FWA's first show, OJ-FWA - FIRST - where she battled newcomer Liliana, and picked up the win. However, the match was notorious for leaving a bad taste in the mouth of OJ-FWA co-founder, and idol to Amy, Reiko Hikawa.

Saturday Night Fights Situation

She was scheduled immediately to face Liliana again at the Hammerstein Ballroom event, Saturday Night Fights. It was the first match on the card. Both women trained extensively in preparation for their match.

However, an attempt at a suicida-style Shooting Star Press off the top rope to the floor of the arena ended badly when Liliana rolled and Chen's face bounced off the ground. She was able to continue the match for a while. But she began to lose track of where she was. Liliana mercifully ended the match.

She was immediately taken to the hospital. Tests done on her showed severe whiplash and a minor concussion. She missed Yuuki Matsuri and was out for quite a while until she returned at Saturday Night Fights 2.

History

Yukari Oogushi was born in a small coal mining town in north eastern Hokkaido. Her ringname came from the name of this town: Yubari. She is an only child.

She was growing up just as the coal mines (the main source of revenue for the town) were closing. Her father managed to save up enough money to send her to college. Her father tragically passed away when she was 13, as a result of working in the mines.

In college, she played basketball and was a lead member of her schools hip-hop dance club. It was during college that she became transfixed with the sport or professional wrestling. She idolized Mariko Yoshida for her technical abilty, Reiko Hikawa for her guts and submissions, and Kazu for his mysterious charisma.

FWA and OJ-FWA

Yubari joined with FWA in 2004, with an unsuccessful debut against So Ryung Park. Despite this, trainer Reiko Hikawa really took to Yubari. According to Hikawa, "She shows such fire and ability. In training, she was always the hardest worker, always willing to do more than the others. Yubari: even in loss, comes out as a winner."

History

Little is known about Park's true origins, as she remains tight-lipped about her past. There has been much speculation, however. Park has repeatedly denied these rumors, saying that she was born and raised in South Korea, her skin color is the result of a permanent tan treatment (whatever it is, it is most definitely NOT makeup), and her size is simply a genetic anomaly.

Indy Scene

By claiming that she was trained by a local indy wrestler, she was able to get her foot in the door of the business. Originally booked as a heel manager, she quickly gained in popularity. This gain was so great that she was eventually booked as in-ring talent, and got a positive reaction from most audiences.

Olive Japan: FWA

She was eventually recruited to the Reiko Hikawa's Female Wrestling Association (FWA) before it merged with New Olive Japan Pro-Wrestling to become Olive Japan: FWA. For a while, she got a decidedly heel reaction in Japan, while still maintaining a face reaction whenever the group has shows in the States. However, this recently has turned into an all around positive crowd reaction as fans all over the world have come to respect the "Green Giant" of OJ-FWA.

History

Liliana had an early start as a troubled youth. While attending Bayshore High School in Long Island she got into regular fights, and even had a pregnancy scare (though that was determined to be false alarm). As such she latched onto pro-wrestling at a young age. She became a huge ECW fan and tried to make it to as many Hammerstein Ballroom shows as possible.

As a Model

A modeling career soon came calling and she appeared and such men's and auto magazines as "The List," "Riding Monthly," and "Score." However, the wrestling bug came back to bite again, and she sought training from then FWA owner Reiko Hikawa (Hikawa was assisting with training seminars in New York about once a year at the time).

As a Pro-Wrestler

Liliana got her start with SRW, and worked as a valet for a few performers. it was here she gained the nickname of "The Hardcore Italirican," due to the ferocity she showed in defending her clients.

It was during this time when she got a big money offer to join "sexy fighting" promotion Glitter Pro that brought her to Japan for the first time.

It was there that she was first noticed by John Mckay. After discussing the matter with Hikawa (with whom he had just merged his NOJ with her FWA to become OJ-FWA), Liliana was invited to participate at FIRST. According to Liliana, "getting to not only wrestle, but debut at the Tokyo Dome was an opportunity I just couldn't pass up!"

Olive Japan: FWA

She wrestled her first match against Amy Chen at FIRST. Although Liliana was happy with the match, Hikawa was none too thrilled. According to Liliana, "she just went off on us! She said that shit that sloppy had no place in front of a crowd such as the Tokyo Dome. Later I saw what she meant when I watched the footage, but still. So here I was fuming and nearly in tears and I couldn't do a damn thing to her. I came THIS close to quitting."

This was prevented, however, by an offer for a rematch with Chen at Saturday Night Fights at the Hammerstein Ballroom. The same place she used to frequently visit as a spectator, she was now going to be the performer. Again, she could not refuse this offer, and stayed with the company.

History

To neighbors and family friends, Moemi Amano's childhood seemed to promise great things. Musically inclined from an early age, she started learning basic music at age 5, and began piano lessons at age 6. By age 9, she was already proficient with a guitar.

However, her life was not all fun and music. Her mother pushed her to succeed to an extreme degree, often having her attend academic "cram schools" in addtion to her music lessons. Her father was always away and, when he was home, drank heavily. This lead to many tense situations, and she left home and school at the age of 16 and relocated to Harajuku.

It was there that she entered the underground music scene, including playing with a number of cover bands. This is also where she picked up her distinctive look. It was also here where she encountered fellow musicians Mika and Mina, collectively known in then FWA as the Wild Crush. Not having been a wrestling fan at the time, she initially refused their suggestions to train with them. Eventually, she relented, and joined their training compound.

Olive Japan Pro-Wrestling (OJPW)
OJ-FWA is based on an earlier independant parody promotion that had a large roster of athletes who made careers out of imitating established wrestlers. The promotion was initially wildly successful, its major workers being booked as tarento on Japanese variety TV and radio shows. Unfortunately, the joke became old quite fast and the company folded the next year. Among high-profile allegations of shady business deals, company founder Shinzo Aoki (青木心臓) committed suicide later that year.

New Olive Japan Pro-Wrestling (NOJ)
One of OJPW's most loyal performers, one who made a career of imitating the stylings of a gigantic El Santo, picked up the pieces of the dead company. John "©" McKay started his own promotion, naming it after his previous employer, and booked nearly exclusively outside workers with a much more traditional wrestling philosophy. He did, however, wish to mantain some of the sense of fun that the previous Olive Japan had. Thus a key attraction was created: NOJ would occasionally have workers cosplay and imitate comic book, and then later, video game and movie characters. At least two current OJ-FWA workers came from this practice. One of these was "Blue" Mary Riegan, who started as an imitator of a video game character, and then it eventually moved into her own persona.

Female Wrestling Association (FWA)
FWA was a small independant joshi professional wrestling outfit run by former indy standout Reiko Hikawa (日川礼子). This league also predominantly hired outsiders for its shows.

Olive Japan: FWA
New Olive Japan and FWA merged November of 2005. They ran some spot shows until debuting on television and the internet with the -FIRST- CPV.
